TiAmo — Czech Music Festival

Bree Nichols will appear in the 2023 Czech Music Festival, where she will join the ISHA Trio and international opera director, Rocc, for a unique experimental opera performance. TiAmo is a Czech chamber opera about women, for women performers, and partly, by a woman (composer Sára Medková, in collaboration with Ivo Medek and Vít Zouhar). TiAmo is a multimedia opera and visual experience about the transformation of women's roles (love, mother, instrument, toy...), desires, needs, and interests. The libretto is based on news reports responding to changes in women's attitudes and rights in recent decades, and changes in how women are perceived in global society. These news stories are presented in parallel with Ovid's Metamorphoses and ancient legends.

The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Recital Hall at the UNT College of Music. The duration is approximately 50 minutes.
