ABOUT THE EVENT
American soprano and Fulbright grantee Bree Nichols is joined by tenor Jason Nichols, baritone Martin Vodrážka, pianist Isabel Keleti, and pianist Jan Mára in showcasing pearls of the Czech song repertoire. The program includes Jaroslav Křička’s award-winning cycle Severní noci (Northern Nights) alongside works by Vítězslav Novák, Otakar Ostrčil, and the inspiring but rarely-heard composer Julie Reisserová.
Under the scope of Bree's Fulbright work, selected song cycles from this recital will be republished in new editions with English translations and phonetic transcriptions for singers, facilitating their future programming by musicians and educators around the world.
