VOCALISM WITH PASSION
Bree Nichols is a young American soprano praised for her “rich vocal disposition” (KlasikaPlus) and compelling stage presence. A Fulbright grantee to the Czech Republic in 2021–22, Bree is known for her sensitive interpretations of Czech vocal music as well as over a dozen operatic roles spanning a diverse repertoire. This season, she won 1st place in the Artist Division of the National Opera Association’s Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition. Bree Nichols is the winner of the 2020 Presser Graduate Music Award in support of her research and performance in Czech vocal music.
Bree Nichols is a 2021-22 Fulbright grantee to the Czech Republic, where she is reviving forgotten musical treasures through an anthology of Czech art songs and a recital series.
Bree Nichols is the founder and general director of Opera Arlington and is currently serving young artists on the faculty of NTX Vocal Arts Exchange.

STREAM BREE’S DEBUT ALBUM NOW
Bree Nichols’ debut album, PURE MORNING, features the work of Czech composers Dvořák, Smetana, Janáček, and Foerster. It was recorded live with the North Czech Philharmonic under the direction of conductor Jiří Petrdlík. The album’s blend of well-known favorites and hidden gems makes it a whole-hearted celebration of Czech opera and art song.
